The School of Art and Design is delighted to welcome prominent Australian curator and arts scholar Julie Ewington as Honorary Associate Professor.

Over a four-decade career which featured teaching and curatorial positions at the Canberra School of Art in the 1980s and 1990s, Julie Ewington has made significant contributions to scholarship and curatorial practice on contemporary art in Australia, and in the Asian region. Over 1997-2014, she worked at the Queensland Art Gallery/ Gallery of Modern Art, serving first as Curator, then as Head, and finally as Curatorial Manager of Australian Art. Julie Ewington has published widely since 1985, and maintains an active research practice, including serving on supervisory panels for HDR candidates.
